Is the Sitter Club a Good Fit?

The Sitter Club is ideal for families who:

  • Want a backup plan already in place
  • Have a nanny and need coverage when plans change
  • Occasionally need professional care for evenings, appointments, or school closures
  • Value W-2 employment, reliability, and clear standards
  • Are comfortable paying for access and preparedness, not just hours

If you're looking for the lowest hourly rate or unlimited on-demand care, we may not be the best fit — and that's okay.

When Care Falls Through, What's Your Plan?

Life happens:

  • A nanny calls out sick
  • School closes unexpectedly
  • A meeting can't be missed
  • Family help isn't available

The Sitter Club exists so these moments don't turn into emergencies.

This is planned backup care — not babysitting roulette.

How It Works

1

Step 1: Apply for Membership

We review applications to ensure alignment and capacity.

2

Step 2: Maintain Active Membership

Your monthly membership secures priority access and professional standards.

3

Step 3: Request Care When Needed

You request care within defined notice windows. We confirm availability and manage coordination.

Important: Membership guarantees priority access and preparedness — not unlimited or guaranteed coverage.

What Makes This Different

Most childcare services operate on-demand without guaranteed availability. The Sitter Club is built differently:

Limited Enrollment Model

We intentionally cap membership to protect caregiver availability and care quality. This means we may close enrollment when capacity is reached.

W-2 Professional Employment

Our caregivers aren't gig workers or independent contractors. They're professionally employed with benefits, insurance, ongoing training, and real accountability.

RN-Informed Standards

Every aspect of our care model — from vetting to safety protocols — is shaped by healthcare-level thinking, not typical babysitting standards.

Why it matters: You're not just getting access to sitters. You're getting a professionally-managed backup care system designed by someone who understands both clinical safety and family needs.

Common Questions

Is membership guaranteed care?

No. Membership guarantees priority access and professional standards — not unlimited availability. Enrollment is limited to protect quality.

Are hours included?

No. Membership secures access. Care hours are billed separately at member rates.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Memberships are month-to-month. We believe families stay because it works.

Can I request the same caregiver?

We aim for continuity when possible, but availability varies. We never overpromise what we can't deliver.

How is this different from regular babysitting services?

Regular babysitting services operate on-demand without guaranteed availability. Our members maintain consistent access to a professionally-employed caregiver team through an intentional enrollment model. Our caregivers are W-2 employees (not contractors), background-checked, and trained to RN-informed standards. You pay for priority access and peace of mind — not just reactive care.

What if I don't use my membership in a given month?

That means your backup plan is working — you didn't need it. Think of it like insurance: you pay for preparedness, not usage. Many members go weeks or months without needing care, but value having a professional team ready when life happens. If you find yourself not using care for several months, we're happy to discuss whether the membership still makes sense for your family.

How quickly can you respond to care requests?

Planned care (3+ days notice): We prioritize these requests and can typically accommodate them.

Short-notice care (1-2 days): We do our best based on caregiver availability.

Same-day/emergency care: We maintain capacity for member emergencies when possible, but cannot guarantee same-day coverage.

We're transparent about availability and will always tell you directly if we cannot accommodate a request.

What happens if you can't fulfill my care request?

We maintain honest capacity limits. If all caregivers are unavailable, we let you know immediately — no false promises or last-minute cancellations. This is rare because we intentionally limit enrollment, but availability is never guaranteed.
